Formula wud b X5Y4Z8 as No of octahedral voids in FCC = 4and no of tetrahedral voids = 8 Along a body diagonal, one octahedral void and 2 tetrahedral voids and 2 corner atoms are present.Therefore no of atoms of Y left = 4-1 = 3and of Z left = 8-2 = 6.in fcc packing, as we know, atoms are present at the face centre with 1/2 contribution and at the corners woth 1/8so acc to que,no of atoms of X1/2×6 + (8-2)×1/8= 3+3/4= 15/4therefore, formula of compound isX15/4Y3Z6 = X5Y4Z8
