why did India selected parliamentary form of government
Introduction:
India is a democratic country and has adopted the parliamentary form of government. The parliamentary system of government is also known as the Westminster model, which was adopted from the United Kingdom. In this system, the government is responsible to the parliament, and the parliament is accountable to the people.

Historical background:
India was under British rule for almost 200 years. During this period, the British established a parliamentary system of government in India. The Indian National Congress, which was formed in 1885, also adopted the parliamentary form of government as its model. After independence, India adopted the same system and adopted a constitution that established a parliamentary democracy.

Advantages of parliamentary form of government:
There are several advantages of the parliamentary form of government, which made India adopt it. Some of these advantages are:

1. Accountability: In the parliamentary system, the government is accountable to the parliament, which, in turn, is accountable to the people. This ensures that the government remains transparent and accountable.

2. Flexibility: The parliamentary system is more flexible than the presidential system. The government can be changed quickly if it loses the support of the parliament, which ensures that the government remains responsive to the changing needs of the people.

3. Representation: The parliamentary system ensures better representation of the people. The members of parliament are elected by the people, and they represent the interests of their constituents in the parliament.

4. Stability: The parliamentary system ensures stability as the government is formed by a majority party or coalition. This ensures that the government remains stable for its full term.

Conclusion:
India selected the parliamentary form of government because it ensures accountability, flexibility, representation, and stability. The parliamentary system has been successful in India and has ensured that the government remains responsive to the needs of the people.
