The person's initial position is the starting point, and the final position is the ending point. Since the person has moved in the opposite direction from the starting point, the displacement would be -20 meters, indicating a negative value.

Zero Displacement:


Zero displacement occurs when an object returns to its initial position after undergoing some motion. In this case, there is no overall change in the object's position.

For instance, imagine a person taking a walk around a circular park. Starting at a specific point on the circular path, the person walks around the park and eventually returns to the same starting point. In this scenario, the displacement would be 0 meters since the person's final position coincides with the initial position.

It is important to note that displacement is a vector quantity, meaning it has both magnitude and direction. The positive and negative signs indicate the direction of displacement, while the numerical value represents the magnitude or distance covered.
