Plants are Autotrophs
Autotrophs are organisms that can produce their own food using sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide. Plants are considered autotrophs because they undergo photosynthesis to create glucose, their primary source of energy. During photosynthesis, plants use chlorophyll to absorb sunlight and convert it into energy that is used to convert carbon dioxide and water into glucose.
Other Autotrophs
While plants are the most common example of autotrophs, they are not the only organisms that can prepare food for themselves. Some bacteria and algae are also capable of photosynthesis and can produce their own food in a similar way to plants. These organisms are also considered autotrophs because they can create their own energy source.
Heterotrophs
On the other hand, heterotrophs are organisms that cannot produce their own food and must rely on consuming other organisms for energy. This includes animals, fungi, and some types of bacteria. Heterotrophs obtain their energy by consuming autotrophs or other heterotrophs.
In conclusion, while plants are a prominent example of organisms that can prepare food for themselves through photosynthesis, they are not the only ones. Some bacteria and algae also have this capability, making them autotrophs as well.

Plants are the organisms that can prepare food for themselves. They prepare food by the process of photosynthesis. Photosynthesis the process by which plants make their own food using raw materials like carbon dioxide, water ,air, chlorophyll and sunlight. Leaves are the food factories of plants. Hence plants are also called autotrophs. But plants are not only the organisms that are capable of making their own food. Plants and some types of algae and bacteria are also capable of making their own food through the process of photosynthesis. Plants are well known organisms that can make their own food, but they are not the only ones. Thus it can be concluded that the above statement is false.
