We know that in a simple harmonic motion the maximum velocity,
Vmax = A⍵
Here A = 50 mm
And ⍵ = 2π / T
= 2π / 2
= π
Hence  Vmax = 50 x 10-3
= 0.15 m/s

Given data:
Amplitude, A = 50 mm = 0.05 m
Time period, T = 2 s

To find: Maximum velocity of the pendulum.

Formula: Maximum velocity of a simple pendulum = Aω
where,
A = Amplitude of oscillation
ω = Angular frequency = 2π/T

Calculation:
Angular frequency, ω = 2π/T = 2π/2 = π rad/s

Maximum velocity, v = Aω
v = 0.05 × π
v = 0.157 m/s

Rounding off to two significant figures, we get:
v ≈ 0.16 m/s

Therefore, the correct option is (b) 0.16 m/s.
