If in simple word i say ... scaler products or dot product is a product of vector which gives scaler quantity (which don't have direction)as a result. for example work=F.s here F and s are force and displacement which are vector quantity but resultant Work is a scaler quantity. similarly vector product or cross product is a product of vector which gives vector quantity as a resulatant for example torque = F×r F and r are vector and resultant torque also is a vector.
