Wings of Fire is the autobiography of our Ex-President and the most influential person in India. He is also known as the “Missile Man of India” because India can never reach where it is today in the field of Rocket Science and weapon system without him. He plays an important role in the development of different missiles like Agni, Prithvi, Aakash, Trishul and Naag.
He was born in Tamil-Muslim family in Rameshwaram and his father was a boat owner and imam at a local mosque. Abdul Kalam was the youngest child in his family though he had to work hard in his childhood.
He gets up early before sunrise and used to go to distribute Newspapers during the time of World War II and after that he goes to school and in the evening he goes to sell tamarind seeds at the mosque streets and the whole sum he got after selling all seeds is One anna.
The book describes the whole story of his struggles in his childhood and after that in his profession. The author narrated all the tiny problems they had faced while working on their different projects.
This book also shows the mindsets of people at that time. As I very much like the teachings which were given by his father on Religion and National equality even after he is not so educated.
Dr APJ Abdul Kalam was our 11nth president who had won the president election with huge numbers of votes from both Ruling and opposition parties.
On 27, July 2015 he was in Shillong to deliver a lecture at IIM Shillong and after five minutes into his lecture he collapsed due to sudden Cardiac arrest and left us with his vision and inspiration to make India no. 1 in Science and technology.
