Law of Triads is applicable to which set of elements?a)Sodium, Potassi...
Law of Triads is a classification system proposed by a German scientist, Johann Dobereiner in 1829. According to this law, the elements with similar chemical and physical properties occur in groups of three called triads. The atomic weight of the middle element of a triad is nearly the average of the other two elements. Let's see which set of elements follows the Law of Triads.

Option A: Sodium, Potassium, Rubidium
- These elements are placed in the same group (Group 1) of the periodic table.
- However, the atomic weight of the middle element (Potassium) is not nearly the average of the other two elements.
- Therefore, this set of elements does not follow the Law of Triads.

Option B: Fluorine, Iodine, Bromine
- These elements belong to the same group (Group 17) of the periodic table.
- The atomic weight of the middle element (Iodine) is nearly the average of the other two elements.
- However, these elements do not have similar chemical and physical properties.
- Therefore, this set of elements does not follow the Law of Triads.

Option C: Chlorine, Bromine, Iodine
- These elements belong to the same group (Group 17) of the periodic table.
- The atomic weight of the middle element (Bromine) is nearly the average of the other two elements.
- These elements have similar chemical and physical properties.
- Therefore, this set of elements follows the Law of Triads.

Option D: Lithium, Beryllium, Boron
- These elements belong to different groups of the periodic table.
- Therefore, this set of elements does not follow the Law of Triads.

Hence, the correct option is C. Chlorine, Bromine, and Iodine follow the Law of Triads.
