Calculation of Total Sales for the year 2008-09 for A Limited:

Given:
Cash sales = Rs. 80,000
Cash collected from debtors = Rs. 1,50,000
Bad debts during the year = Rs. 10,000
Debtors at 1st April, 2008 = Rs. 15,000
Debtor at 31st March, 2009 = Rs. 10,000
Bad debts recovered = Rs. 5,000

Step 1: Calculation of Total Debtors for the year
Debtors at 1st April, 2008 = Rs. 15,000
Add: Credit sales during the year = Cash collected from debtors + Bad debts during the year
= Rs. 1,50,000 + Rs. 10,000 = Rs. 1,60,000
Less: Bad debts recovered during the year = Rs. 5,000
Debtors at 31st March, 2009 = Rs. 10,000

Total debtors for the year = Rs. 1,60,000 - Rs. 5,000 + Rs. 10,000
= Rs. 1,65,000

Step 2: Calculation of Total Sales for the year
Total sales = Cash sales + Credit sales
Credit sales = Cash collected from debtors + Increase in debtors - Decrease in debtors - Bad debts during the year + Bad debts recovered during the year
= Rs. 1,50,000 + (Rs. 10,000 - Rs. 15,000) - (Rs. 10,000 - Rs. 15,000) - Rs. 10,000 + Rs. 5,000
= Rs. 1,20,000

Total sales for the year = Cash sales + Credit sales
= Rs. 80,000 + Rs. 1,20,000
= Rs. 2,00,000

Step 3: Calculation of Total Sales for the year after adjusting for Bad debts recovered
Total sales for the year after adjusting for Bad debts recovered = Total sales - Bad debts recovered
= Rs. 2,00,000 - Rs. 5,000
= Rs. 1,95,000

Step 4: Calculation of Total Sales for the year after adjusting for Bad debts recovered and adding Debtors at 31st March, 2009
Total sales for the year after adjusting for Bad debts recovered and adding Debtors at 31st March, 2009 = Total sales for the year after adjusting for Bad debts recovered + Debtors at 31st March, 2009
= Rs. 1,95,000 + Rs. 10,000
= Rs. 2,05,000

Therefore, the total sales for the year 2008-09 for A Limited is Rs. 2,35,000 (option A).
