The distance between image and object is -\frac {40} {3}.
Given is the value of f as f = 10 cm and the u is u = 20 cm and will be taken negative as a case of convex lens. 
Therefore the formula be used, 
\frac {1} { f} = \frac {1} {u} + \frac {1} {v}
=>\frac {1} {10} = -\frac {1} {20} + \frac {1} {(- v)}
=>\frac {1} {10} = \frac {-1} {20} - \frac {1} {v}
=> \frac {1} {v} = -\frac {1} {20} - \frac {1} {10}
=> v = -\frac {20} {3}.
Therefore the distance between the object and image is, 
 2 v = 2 x -\frac {20} {3} = -\frac {40} {3}.
