Diference between thermoplastics and thermosetting plastics?

Thermoplastic are thermoplast which softer when heated thermosetting plastic are thermosets which hard when heated and soft when cooled

Thermosetting plastic:- (1) Thermosetting plastics are the polymers in which chain get highly cross linked on heating .(2) once moulded ,Thermosetting plastics cannot be reprocessed . ex : Bakelite  Thermoplastic :-(1) thermoplastic are long chain polymer with no cross linking .heating also does not produce any cross linking between the chain.(2) thermoplastic can be processed repeatedly . ex : pvc , nylon ,etc

Thermo plastics :- • It can be bent easily. • It can be softened easily by heating. Thus, it can be reshaped. Thermosetting plastic :- • It cannot be bent easily. It may break when forced to bend. • It cannot be softened by heating. Thus, it cannot be reshaped once moulded.

Thermoplastics 1 .linear and lightly cross linked polymers form class of plastics called thermoplastic 2 .Thermoplastics can be melted by heating and thereafter moulded in desired shapes. This is reversible process. Thermosetting plastics 1 .Heavy cross linked after shaping the plastic form the class of plastic is called thermosetting plastics. 2 .unlike thermoplastic,thermosetting plastics cannot be remoulded after heating.
