The distance moved by screw of a screw gauge is 2mm in 4 rotations and...
Dear student,
There are 50 divisions.
And it moves 2 mm in four rotations.
30 th division coincides with reference when there is nothing placed. This is the error = (0.5/50)*30
4 rotations gives 2 mm
SO, 1 rotation gives 0.5mm
Every rotation is 50 divisions.
1 division is 0.5/50.
Reading is 2 circular division +20 divisions. = 1+(0.5/50)*20
Error = -(1.5/5)
Reading = 0.9mm

The distance moved by screw of a screw gauge is 2mm in 4 rotations and...
Given data:
- Distance moved by screw in 4 rotations = 2mm
- Number of divisions on circular scale = 50
- When nothing is placed between the jaws, the 30th division on the circular scale coincides with the reference line.

Calculations:
- Distance moved by screw in one rotation = 2mm / 4 = 0.5mm
- Least count of the screw gauge = Distance moved by screw / Total number of divisions on circular scale
= 0.5mm / 50 = 0.01mm

When the plate is placed:
- Main scale reading = 2 divisions
- Circular scale reading = 20 divisions
- Total reading = Main scale reading + (Circular scale reading * Least count)
= 2 + (20 * 0.01)
= 2 + 0.2
= 2.2mm

Thickness of the plate:
- Thickness of the plate = Total reading with plate - Total reading without plate
= 2.2mm - 2mm
= 0.2mm
Hence, the thickness of the plate is 0.2mm.
Therefore, the correct answer is not provided in the options given.
