Hi happy  prince is a good story that explains about a statue prince which wanted the happiness of his kingdom

In this story a price's statue was placed at a tall column after his death. Because of which he was able to see the deplorable and miserable conditions around him. One day a swallow on his way to Egypt decided to spend the night in this city. He visited several places in the city and finally decided to spend the night under the statue of the Happy Prince. But suddenly a drop of water fell on him and he cursed the statue for not being able to provide shelter. But soon he realised that the tears came from the eyes of the Happy Prince. When the swallow asked him about his tears he replied that when he was a Human he was the Prince of this city and he never knew what sorrow was. So the courtiers called him Happy Prince.He added that the miserable condition around the city has made him cry. He requested the swallow to stay with him for one night longer and be his messenger and deliver his sword's ruby to the Queen's maid who is a very poor seamstress. She is not even able to buy oranges for his sick son.The swallow agreed to do this.

The next day again came the request from the Prince. This time he wanted him to pluck out one of the eye's of the Prince that was made of sapphire and deliver it to the poor playwright. At first the swallow hesitated but the prince forced him to do so.

The next day the prince asked him to stay with him for one more night. This time he wanted the swallow to pluck out the sapphire from the other eye and deliver it to the little matchgirl who has lost her matches. The swallow rejected the idea and said that he(prince) would become blind. But he had to obey his command.

The next day the swallow decided to stay with the prince and tell him about the conditions in his city because the prince was blind.He then took off leaf after leaf of fine gold from the prince's statue and distributed it among the poor.

One day the swallow realised that winter was approaching and he had not much time left.So he went to the prince and kissed him on the lips and died at his feet.Upon seeing this the prince's heart broke into two pieces.

When the Art professor said that the statue no longer looked beautiful, they melted it in a furnace. But to their surprise the broken heart did not melt. So they threw the broken heart on a dust heap along with the swallow's dead body.

When God asked his angles to bring the two most precious things in the city, he brought the broken heart of the prince and the dead body of the swallow. God said that he had chosen the right things.
