Verified Answer
Two cars leave Delhi at the same time travelling in opposite direction...
Let the speed of first car be x km/hr  and second car be y km/hr

therefore, acc. to the question,

If the average speed of the car is 5 km/hr more than that of the other,then

x = y+5...(i)

and

when they are 425km apart at the end of 5 hrs at the end of 5 hrs, then

425 =  5y km + (5y+25)km

425 = 10y+25

425-25=10y

400=10y

or

y =40 km/hr

put in (i), we get,

x = 40+5

x= 45 km/hr

Two cars leave Delhi at the same time travelling in opposite direction...
Problem Statement:
Two cars leave Delhi at the same time, travelling in opposite directions. The average speed of one car is 5 km per hour more than that of the other. After 5 hours, they are 425 km apart. We need to find the average speed of each car.

Given:
- Two cars leave Delhi at the same time.
- They are travelling in opposite directions.
- The average speed of one car is 5 km per hour more than the other.
- After 5 hours, they are 425 km apart.

Solution:

Let's assume the average speed of one car as x km/hr and the average speed of the other car as (x + 5) km/hr.

Distance covered by the first car:
The distance covered by the first car in 5 hours is 5x km.

Distance covered by the second car:
The distance covered by the second car in 5 hours is 5(x + 5) km.

Since they are travelling in opposite directions, the total distance covered by both cars is equal to the sum of their distances.

Total distance covered:
Total distance covered = Distance covered by the first car + Distance covered by the second car
425 km = 5x + 5(x + 5)

Solving the equation:
425 km = 5x + 5x + 25
425 km = 10x + 25
425 km - 25 = 10x
400 km = 10x
40 km/hr = x

So, the average speed of the first car is 40 km/hr and the average speed of the second car is (40 + 5) km/hr, which is 45 km/hr.

Therefore, the average speed of each car is 40 km/hr and 45 km/hr, respectively.
