Alcohol and water have different boiling points. The alcohol has a smaller boiling point than water. Water has a boiling point of 100 degrees Celsius and Alcohol has a boiling point of 78.7 degrees celsius. Heat the mixture and the first to evaporate is alcohol. It will cool and condense to form a liquid. It would be collected in a beaker. The same thing will be done with the water. Both chemicals are now separated from their mixture.
