a = 1/ (3-2√2) 
b =  1/ ( 3+2√2) 
∴ ab =  1/(3-2√2) * 1/ (3+2√2) 
=>  1/ (9-8) 
=> 1 
We know; 
(a+b)2 = a2 + b+ 2ab
And, a2+ b2 = (a+b)2 - 2ab
=> [ 1/(3-2√2) + 1/(3+2√2) ]2 -2*1
=> [3+2√2+3-2√2 / 1]^2 -2 
=> (6)2 - 2 
=>  36 - 2
=>  34
