Let height of each step be "H"Let width of each step be "W"Let no. of steps be "n"
Total height =n×HTotal width=n ×W
w.k.t. distance =speed ×time the horizontal velocity =u=5m/s u×t=n×W t=nW/ualso. n×H =(gt^2)/2 n×H=(gn^2W^2)/(2u^2) n=(2Hu^2)/(gW^2) therefore this is the formula to calculate steps quit by the ball. Acc. to the gn. question after applying all the values in that formula n=5. (if g = 10m/s) therefore the no. of steps quit by the ball is 5 steps. THEREFORE THE BALL WILL LAND ON THE 6th STEP.
