In the stop,' 'Who Did Patrick's Homework', Patrick is a student who never likes to do his homework. Instead he wants to play various games. In the meantime he comes across an elf who is in some trouble. Patrick helps him. The elf promises to help him (Patrick) in return. Now, Patrick gives him the task of doing his homework. The Elf has little knowledge about maths and history and therefore he seeks Patrick's help every now and then. In due course Patrick starts working harder in the process of helping the elf. He stays up nights and because of this hard work Patrick performs very well in his class. Thus, he is greatly benefited by the little elf. In the story 'Taro's Reward', Taro is a hardworking boy. He is a woodcutter and does hard labour day and night to earn money to make available a comfortable life for his old parents. Because of his sincerity and honesty he is rewarded by nature. The king of Japan also rewards him to give a message to all the young people. Thus, in both the stories we see that some supernatural power helps the boys, Patrick and Taro respectively.
