Which phylum has a reduced coelomic cavity?a)Phylum Nematodab)Phylum E...
A coelom is a hollow, fluid-filled cavity found in many living things, where it acts as a protective cushion for their internal organs. In some animals, such as worms, the coelom acts as a skeleton. The coelom also allows the internal organs to move and grow independently of the outer layer of the body wall.
Now we see what is phylum...in simple words we can define it that a phylum is a level of classification or taxonomic rank below Kingdom and above Class. There are 36 recognized animal phyla, of which but nine contain the vast majority of described, extant species.and Mollusca is one of them.
If we focus on the some basic features of Mollusca...then.
Some common features are :
▪Unsegmented soft body with bilateral symmetry.
▪Presence of an internal or external shell.
▪A toothed tongue (made mostly of chitin) called the radula.
▪A mantle which is a fold in the body wall that lines the shell.
▪Muscular foot (and/or tentacles in some).
●Here we see it has presence of external and internal shell....which leads to reduce the coelomic cavity..
