Following are the features of a democratic government:-
=> All people are treated equally i.e., the rule of law is maintained throughout the country.
=> Elections are held regularly after a fixed period of time.
=> Elections provide a fair and equally just way to elect a representative or to get elected as one after a particular age.
=> Many rights such as the freedom of speech and expression, freedom to form associations, freedom to hold meetings and demonstrations, etc., are provided to the citizens of a democratic country.
=> In a democratic form of government, powers will be separated i.e., it prevents the accumulation of power in the hands of a single individual. Someone will be there to cross-check the other's power.
=> In a Democratic country, the government is formed by the party which enjoys the majority support of the citizens.
