Elements of costs are:-
1- Material cost - material cost is the vost of material in any nature used fir the puropse of production of a product or service.
2- labour cost- labour cost means the payment made to the employees, permanent or temporary for theur servixes.
3- expences- expenses other than material and labour mean the cost of services provided to an undertaking and the notional costbof thr use of owned assets.
all three of these, namely material cist, labour cost and expenses are of two types - a) direct , b) indirect.
Cost Unit- the unit on which expensez are incurred are called cost unit.
Cost Centre- the department which is responsible for incurring the cost is called cost centre.
