Awards of Rajasthan

Bhamashah Award

• This award is presented to students across all universities in Rajasthan who achieve the highest percentage of marks in the region or to students from Rajasthan excelling in recognized institutions outside the state.
• Awards are based on outstanding accomplishments in various disciplines at the undergraduate level such as Arts, Science, Commerce, Law, Education, Veterinary Science, Engineering, and Medicine, within the current or previous academic year.

Rajasthan Ratna

• Rajasthan Ratna, also known as the Jewel of Rajasthan or Gem of Rajasthan, stands as the most prestigious civilian honor in the state.
• This award is open to individuals regardless of their race, occupation, position, or gender.
• Recipients of the Rajasthan Ratna are bestowed with a cash prize of one hundred thousand rupees, a shawl, and a citation presented by dignitaries such as the state governor, chief minister, and minister of art and culture.
• The essence of this award draws parallels with the Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award in India conferred by the Government of India.
• Notable winners include:
  • R. Mehta for his contributions in social service.
  • Jasdev Singh for his exemplary work in commentary.
  • Ram Narayan recognized for his mastery in playing the sarangi.
  • Nagendra Singh honored for his exceptional contributions to law.
  • Kailash Sankhala acclaimed for his efforts in environmental protection.
  • Hasrat Jaipuri remembered for his poetry in Urdu and Hindi.
  • Gavri Devi acknowledged for her melodious renditions as a Maand singer.

Udyog Ratna Awards by Rajasthan Government

• With the aim of inspiring industrialists and businesses in Rajasthan, the state government has introduced the Udyog Ratna Awards to recognize outstanding performance in the industrial sector.
• These awards are designed to foster healthy competition among industries, with a special focus on honoring handicraft weavers alongside industrialists during the MSME day celebrations in September.
• A pioneering initiative, these awards mark the first instance of the Rajasthan Government acknowledging industrial excellence in this manner.
• The awards will be distributed across different categories of enterprises, including micro, small, and medium businesses. Additionally, recognition will be extended to national award-winning handicraft artisans and weavers, totaling fourteen awards.
• Recipients of these awards will receive a cash prize of one lakh rupees, a letter of appreciation, and a shawl as tokens of recognition.
• Enterprises will be evaluated based on various parameters such as growth in turnover, environmental practices, adoption of energy-efficient techniques, enhanced labor productivity, and progressive labor welfare policies.
• The selection process will also consider factors like the best female industrialist and efforts taken to revive declining industries.
• To be eligible for consideration, enterprises must have been operational for at least three years and possess relevant certifications or fall under the MSMSD Act of 2006.
• Furthermore, applicants must have a clean record with no criminal cases or involvement in criminal activities.

Cash Award to Meritorious Girl Students at District level by Rajasthan Government

• Cash Awards for Meritorious Girls: The Rajasthan government will grant cash awards to outstanding girl students at the district level to promote women's education in the state.
• Topper Award Details: The top-performing girl in Class XII board exams and Varishtha Upadhyay exams will receive a scooty along with a cash prize.
• Eligibility and Scope: The award is available to girl students in Classes VIII, X, and XII of the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) from all categories, starting this academic session.
• Award Amounts:
  • District-level toppers in Class VIII will receive Rs 40,000.
  • District-level toppers in Class X will receive Rs 75,000.
  • District-level toppers in Class XII will receive Rs 1 lakh.
• Additional Recognition: Meritorious students will also be given certificates.
• Eligibility Criteria: To qualify for the award, district-level toppers must achieve at least 60% marks.
• Award Ceremony Details: The award presentation will take place at each district headquarters on Bansant Panchami. Both government and private school students affiliated with RBSE are eligible for this scheme.

Rajasthan Energy Conservation Awards (RECA)

• Since 2009, the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation (RREC) has been organizing the Rajasthan Energy Conservation Awards (RECA) on the 14th of December, celebrated as Energy Conservation Day.
• The RECA aims to acknowledge and honor outstanding efforts in energy conservation across various sectors such as industries, government buildings, hospitals, energy auditors/managers, individuals, and institutes.
• RREC promotes energy conservation through programs that encourage the use of energy-efficient appliances, conducts promotional activities, and sets up pilot projects to demonstrate energy savings in the state.

State Level Panchayat Award Yojana (SPAS)

• The State Level Panchayat Award Yojana (SPAS) is an initiative that recognizes exemplary contributions and achievements at the state level in the field of Panchayat development.
• SPAS is designed to incentivize and reward Panchayats for their exceptional work in various areas such as rural development, governance, infrastructure, and community welfare.

Panchayat Shashaktikaran Puraskar (PSP) 

• Introduced in 2010-11 in alignment with the 73rd amendment of the constitution by the Government of India.
• This initiative aims to reward excellence by granting awards to the top-performing Zila Parishad, two Panchayat Samities, and five Gram Panchayats annually.
• The Government of Rajasthan was granted a prize of Rs. 152.00 lakh for the fiscal year 2015-16. Subsequent nominations for 2016-17 have been submitted to the Government of India.
