Anita and the Honeybees

  • This chapter tells the true story of Anita, known as Girl Star, who lived in Bochaha village, Muzaffarpur district, Bihar, with her parents and two younger brothers. 
  • Despite facing many challenges, she convinced her parents to let her go to school, even though her father initially believed girls shouldn't. 
  • Anita eventually attended college and also started beekeeping.
  • All this was not easy for Anita. When she was young, she spent all her time with her goats as they grazed for food. Anita always wanted to go to school but her parents did not like the idea of girls going to school.

  • One day, Anita went to school and quietly sat in her classroom. 
  • She felt really excited about learning. 
  • Gathering her courage, she went home to talk to her parents about it.
