Important Points to Remember: |
|
Temperature refers to how hot or cold something is. It helps us understand whether an object feels warm, cool, or cold.
For example:
We use the word "temperature" to describe this difference. Objects that feel warm are called hot objects, and those that feel cool are called cold objects.
We measure temperature using special units. There are three main units:
Celsius (°C) – Used most often worldwide.
Fahrenheit (°F) – Mostly used in the United States.
Kelvin (K) – Used in science.
Temperature Units on Thermometer
We use the degree symbol (°) to measure temperature in Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F).
A thermometer shows the temperature by using a red liquid inside a tube. When something is hot, the liquid rises. When something is cold, the liquid goes down.
Boiling water: The thermometer will show 100°C.
Freezing ice: The thermometer will show 0°C.
There are different types of thermometers. Here are some common ones:
Clinical Thermometer: A thermometer used by doctors to check human body temperature. It measures temperature in Celsius (°C).Thermometer
Digital Thermometer: A modern thermometer that shows the temperature on a digital screen. It can also measure body temperature.Digital Thermometer
This way, temperature helps us stay comfortable and safe in different weather conditions!
