| 1. What is AIDS? |  |
Ans. AIDS stands for Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome. It is a chronic and potentially life-threatening condition caused by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). HIV weakens the immune system and makes individuals more susceptible to infections and diseases.

Ans. Ans. The symptoms of AIDS can vary, but common signs include persistent fatigue, rapid weight loss, recurring fevers, night sweats, chronic diarrhea, swollen lymph nodes, and opportunistic infections such as pneumonia, tuberculosis, and certain cancers.

Ans. Currently, there is no cure for AIDS. However, medical advancements have led to highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART), which can effectively control HIV and slow down the progression of the disease. HAART involves a combination of different antiretroviral drugs to suppress the virus and boost the immune system.
| 5. How can AIDS be prevented? | |
Ans. AIDS can be prevented by practicing safe sex, using condoms consistently and correctly, avoiding sharing needles or syringes, getting tested for HIV and knowing the status of your partner, and, if diagnosed with HIV, following the prescribed treatment plan and taking medication regularly to reduce the viral load and minimize the risk of transmission. Additionally, education and awareness about HIV/AIDS play a crucial role in prevention.
