Conservation ensures that the natural balance is not disturbed, and the ecosystem remains healthy. Furthermore, many plants and animals have medicinal value, and their conservation helps in preserving the biodiversity of our planet. Conservation also helps in preserving the habitat and natural resources that are essential for the survival of various species.
2. What are the major threats to plant and animal conservation?
Ans. There are several major threats to plant and animal conservation. One of the key threats is habitat destruction due to deforestation, urbanization, and agricultural expansion. This leads to the loss of natural habitats, making it difficult for plants and animals to survive. Pollution, including air, water, and soil pollution, also poses a significant threat. It affects the quality of the environment and can harm plants and animals.
