Hi! I'm Samir and now we wil learn some
special tricks to multiply two numbers
faster. Let us try to multiply 28 and 22.
Please note that the sum of the unit
digits is 10 and rest is identical. Now
let us proceed to write down our
answer which would be in 2 parts, the second part would be the product of the unit digits
which in our case is 8x 2 ,16 and
for the first part will take the
identical part and multiply it by 1
more than itself , which in our case was
2 so we have to multiply 2 with 1 more than itself which is 3 giving us 2
x 3, 6. Now we can put this together
and write down our final answer at 616.
Please note that the number of digits in
the second part would always be equal
to 2 times the number of 0's in the sum of the unit digits.Let us try to
multiply 1198 and 1102. Please note that the last two digits taken from both the numbers are 98 and 02
respectively and their sum is 98 + 2, 100
and rest is identical which is
11. Now we can proceed to write down our answer which would be in two parts, for the second part
it would be the product of the last
two digits taken from both the numbers
which is 98 x 2 giving us 196. Also
note that the number of digits in the
second part would be equal to twice the
number of 0's obtained in the
sum of last two digits taken from both the
numbers which was 98 + 2, 100 giving us two 0's
so number of digits would be two times 2
making it 4.Now in 196 we already have
three digits so we will add an
additional 0 in front of it making it
easy 0196. For the first part we will take 11
which was the identical part and
multiply by one more than itself which
is 12. So 11 x 12 will give us 132. Now we
can combine these two and get our final
answer as 1320196. Let us try one
more example 7996 into 7004 please note
that the last three digits taken from both
these numbers
are 996 and 004 and their sum is 1,000 and the identical part is 7.Now we can proceed to
write down our answer which would be in 2 parts , for the second part we will have
the product of 996 and 004 which were the last three digits of the two
numbers.So the product of 996 and 4 can be seen as a (1000-4) x4
which will give us 4000- 16, 3984 .Please note that the second part
would have 6 digits as the number of 0's in sum were 3. So we we will have the
second part as 003984 and the first part would be seven which was the identical part
multiplied with one more than itself which
is 7 plus 1, 8 giving us 7 x 8, 56 now we can
combine these two parts and write down
our final answer as 56003984. Thanks for
