2. Imagine that you were to stay alone in a small tent for two days and could take with you only 10 things. Make a list of these ten things.
Ans. If I would have to stay alone in a small tent for two days. I would take these 10 things along with me-

3. What are the different types of houses that you have seen? Tell your friends about it. 
Ans.  I have seen various types of houses in different regions:

• Wooden houses in hilly areas.
• Cement and brick houses in cities, which are strong and can withstand heavy rains and storms.
• Houses made of mud and bamboo or wood, which are less durable in harsh weather conditions.
  Each type of house is designed to suit the local climate and lifestyle of the people living there.

Ans.  Tashi and his family live on the ground floor during winter for several reasons:

• The ground floor has no windows, which helps block cold winds.
• It provides better protection from icy temperatures.
• They can stay warm and comfortable in a secure environment.

 2. What is the roof of your house like? What is the roof used for?
Ans. The roof of my house is made of bricks and cement. It serves several purposes:

• Drying clothes and food items like potato chips, papad, and aam papad.
• Providing a place to sleep during the summer.
• Allowing sunlight in during the winter.

 2. Why did Gaurav Jani say – This place is so high that it is difficult to breathe normally?
Ans. At high altitudes, the amount of oxygen in the air decreases. This makes it harder to breathe normally because:

• Breathing becomes more difficult.
• You need to take deeper breaths to get enough oxygen.
• Physical exertion can lead to headaches and weakness.

Thus, Gaurav Jani remarked that this place is so high that it is difficult to breathe normally.

3. Have you ever been to a hilly place? Where?
Ans. Yes, I have been to a hilly place a few years back. It was in Manali.

4. At what height was it? Did you have any difficulty breathing there?
Ans. Manali is about 2050 meters above sea level. Yes, breathing was a little difficult in Manali.

 5. Which is the highest place you have been to?
Ans. I have visited Rohtang Pass, which is located at an impressive height of 4111 metres above sea level.

6. For the Changpas their animals are a very important part of their life. Is any animal part of your life? For example as a pet, or as helpers in farming. List five ways in which different animals are a part of your life. Do goat and sheep need their own fur and wool? Discuss ( Page No. 127)
Ans. Yes, my pet dog Herry is an important part of my life. Here are five ways in which different animals contribute to our lives:

• Dog – Commonly kept as a pet or for protecting homes.
• Cow – Provides milk for consumption.
• Buffalo – Used for ploughing fields and transporting goods.
• Goat – Source of both milk and meat.
• Sheep – Offers wool for clothing and other products.

Regarding goats and sheep, they do indeed need their own fur and wool to keep warm and provide insulation in cold climates.

Ans. The materials used for making my houses are mud, brick, stone, wood, cement glass, etc.

The difference between the life of the Bakarwal people and the life of the Changpas is that.

• The Bakarwal people gaze at any type of goat and sheep at any place. And stay at low altitudes only.
• But Changpas gaze only a special type of goat at high altitudes because their wool would be very soft which is very costly. They live at high altitudes only.

 2. How are these different from the house you live in?
Ans. The houses which we live in are built as per our requirements and depend on the weather conditions. We use cement, bricks, stone, wood, etc. to construct a house. But in the case of Changpas or the Bakarwal people, they build up tents and keep wandering. Hence our houses are different from theirs.
