Value Points :
1. The question usually involves writing a speech for the school morning assembly.
2. Begin your speech by addressing the audience, “Respected Principal, teacher and friends…’’ or simply, “Good Morning everyone…”
3. The introductory paragraph should highlight the subject of your speech. Mention “We are here today to share with you some views on…” or “I’m standing here before you today to speak on the topic…”. You could use a good quotation or proverb related to the topic. Emphasise the fact that you are sharing your own thoughts and opinions.
4. The second and third paragraphs should be focused on building the speech. You could relate an anecdote/give proven facts/ statistical data relevant to the topic. Use questions to involve the audience e.g. Are you aware ….? Did you Know…?/How many of you agree that …
5. Conclude by emphasising your strongest point or even a slogan, promise or pledge. Even a relevant quotation or 3-4 lines of poetry is an impressive conclusion.
6. The tone should be kept inspirational and positive.
7. Remember to keep your language structures brief and concise – avoid long sentences using many conjunctions.
8. End with a “Thank you.”
