At a function in Delhi,

Patriotic song”A y e Mere
Watan Ke L og on ” . She
called upon the Indians
to recall with tearful eyes
the sacrifices of Indian
freedom fighters. The
martyrs are remembered
every now and then.
They lay their lives for
the sake of the nation.

the states of the country. They
sought the help of the English
merchants to defeat each other.

3.British Rule(1765-1836)

steeped into religious
orthodoxies and superstitions.
Practices like untouchability,
child marriages and low social
status given to women were
just a few to mention.
Britishers scorned the Indians
for these evil practices as well
as for their dishonesty. Their
laws crippled the Indian
industries and strengthened
their rule.
