Light and Shadow
WHAT IS LIGHT?
We have studied photosynthesis, where green plants
produce food using sunlight energy. Light is a type of energy.
Therefore, we can understand that the energy we obtain
from food is essentially light energy stored within the food
we consume!

Sources of Light
Sources of light can be divided into two categories: natural and artificial. Natural
sources include the sun and stars; living things that give off light, such as fireflies;
and artificial sources, which are created by humans and include light bulbs.

HOW DO WE SEE
THINGS?
When light from a source of light such as an electric bulb
falls on a book, a part of it is bounced off. When this
bounced light falls on our eyes, we can see the book. This
bouncing off of light by objects is called reflection of light.
