4. How do monsoons affect weather patterns?

Ans. Monsoons are seasonal winds that bring heavy rainfall to certain regions. They occur due to temperature differences between land and water, causing a change in atmospheric pressure. During the summer, land heats up faster, creating a low-pressure area, and moist air from the ocean flows in, bringing rain. In winter, the reverse happens, resulting in a dry season.

5. What are local winds and how do they differ from global winds?

Ans. Local winds are winds that occur on a smaller scale and are influenced by local topography and temperature differences. They include sea breezes, land breezes, mountain breezes, and valley breezes. Global winds, on the other hand, are large-scale winds that occur due to the Earth's rotation and temperature differences on a global scale, such as the trade winds and the westerlies.
