Deshbandhu: A Beacon of Hindi Journalism

• Deshbandhu, a Hindi newspaper established in April 1959 in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, by the esteemed journalist Mayaram Surjan, holds a significant position in the state's media domain.
• Initially launched in Raipur, it expanded its reach to other key cities like Bilaspur, Bhopal, Jabalpur, Satna, and even New Delhi over the years.
• The publication's National Edition, initiated in 2008 from New Delhi, marked a pioneering milestone in central India's journalistic history.
• In addition to its newspaper, Deshbandhu also publishes a Hindi eveninger called Highway Channel in Raipur, Bilaspur, and Jagdalpur, along with a monthly literary journal named Akshar Parv.
• As a testament to its commitment to society, Deshbandhu has established various public service institutions such as Deshbandhu Pratibha Protsahan Kosh, the Mayaram Surjan Foundation, and the Jandarshan Media Centre.

Central Chronicle: Reflecting Central India's Narratives

• Central Chronicle, an English-language daily regional newspaper originating from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, and Raipur, Chhattisgarh, caters to a wide readership interested in local, national, and central Indian news.
• Formerly known as MP Chronicle when Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh were a unified state, it transformed into Central Chronicle post the bifurcation on November 1, 2000, when Raipur became a part of the newly formed state of Chhattisgarh.

Nava Bharat

• Overview: Nava Bharat is a Hindi-language daily newspaper with a rich history. Founded in 1934 in Nagpur by Late Ramgopal Maheshwari, a multifaceted personality, it has been a stalwart in the journalism landscape.
• Geographical Reach: The newspaper is published in multiple cities including Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Gwalior, and others, extending its influence across regions.
• Values: Nava Bharat has maintained a tradition of value-based journalism, advocating for regional issues and the betterment of society over its 81-year journey.

Hari Bhoomi

• Hari Bhoomi is a daily newspaper published in North and Central India. Originally established as a weekly Hindi newspaper on 5 September 1996, it transitioned to a daily publication in November 1997 with the launch of its Rohtak Edition, which covered news across Haryana. 
• In April 1998, the group expanded to the Delhi Edition, focusing on news from India's capital and the NCR region, including Faridabad and Gurgaon. By March 2001, the newspaper entered Chhattisgarh with the Bilaspur Edition, followed by the Raipur Edition in June 2002, which also extended coverage to parts of Orissa. 
• The Jabalpur Edition in Madhya Pradesh was introduced in October 2008, and later that year, the Raigarh Edition was launched in Chhattisgarh.

The Hitavada

• The Hitavada, known as "The People’s Paper," is the largest-selling English broadsheet daily in Central India. Established in 1911 by freedom fighter Gopal Krishna Gokhale in Nagpur, it was later acquired by Purohit and Company, owned by Banwarilal Purohit, a former BJP MP from Nagpur and the current Governor of Tamil Nadu. 
• The newspaper celebrated its centenary in 2011, with the event inaugurated by Mrs. Pratibha Patil, who was then the President of India.
• The Hitavada is published from Nagpur, Jabalpur, Raipur, and Bhopal, with each city edition featuring a special supplement called City Line, focusing on local news and events.

Krishak Jagat

• A Hindi e-paper concentrating on agricultural news.
