The Reserve Bank of India is the central bank of the country, responsible for regulating and supervising the monetary policy and financial systems in India. As one of the most prestigious organizations in the country, securing a job as an RBI Assistant is highly sought after by many aspiring candidates. Though there is no interview in the RBI Assistant recruitment process, the selection process for this position is rigorous, consisting of a Preliminary exam, a Main exam, and a Language Proficiency Test.

RBI Assistant Interview - Selection Process

There is not interview stage in the RBI Assistant selection process. A Preliminary Examination, a Main Examination, and a Lanugaue Proficiency Test are the stages candidates need to go through in order to crack their dream job of RBI Assistant.

  • The total number of questions asked in the RBI Assistant Prelims examination is 100.
  • Each question carries 1 mark.
  • Marks deducted for every wrong answer is ¼.
  • The mode of the examination is online
  • The duration of the examination is 60 minutes.
  • There will be a sectional cut-off for the preliminary examination.

Candidates who clear the Preliminary Examination are called for the Main Examination. The following table contains the expected main examination details for RBI Assistant Mains Examination.

  • Each question carries 1 mark.
  • Marks deducted for every wrong answer is ¼.
  • The mode of the examination is online.

  • The candidates must note that there will be a sectional cut-off for the main examination.

Candidates provisionally selected from the main online examination are expected to take a language proficiency test (LPT). The language competence test is expected to be administered in the state's official/local language, as listed below. Candidates who are unable to communicate in the Official/Local Language will be disqualified.

  • Candidates who are shortlisted based on the main examination are called for the Language Proficiency Test, which is the final stage of selection. 
  • Candidates who are not proficient in the local language can be disqualified.
