ratio of their capitals. If the total pro?t is
Rs. 1000, ?nd Rajesh’s total share.

Ex.2 - Aman and Bhanu invest some
amount in the ratio 4 : 5 in a business.
After 8 months, Chandan joins them with
an investment equal to thrice that of
Bhanu . In what ratio should the yearly
pro?t be shared among Aman , Bhanu
and Chandan ?
Sol .
Ratio of pro?t is equal to the product of
investment and time of investment .
Ratio Aman : Bhanu : Chandan ?
Investment 4 : 5 : 15 ?
Time 12 : 12 : 4 ?
---------------------------------------------
Pro?t 48 : 60 : 60 = 4 : 5 : 5 ?

the business as he is the active partner
and the rest of the pro?t is divided in the
ratio of their capitals. If the total pro?t is
Rs. 1000, ?nd Rajesh’s total share.
Sol .
Here the investment time is the same ,
then the pro?t will be shared in the ratio
of their investment .
Rajesh gets 10% of total pro?t as he is
active partner = 100 Rs. ? 1000×
10
100
Remaining Pro?t = 900 Rs.
Ratio of Pro?t 5000 : 4000 = 5 : 4 ?

referred as Sleeping partner.
Every partner invests some amount of
money for a certain time to help the

Ex.2 - Aman and Bhanu invest some
amount in the ratio 4 : 5 in a business.
After 8 months, Chandan joins them with
an investment equal to thrice that of
Bhanu . In what ratio should the yearly
pro?t be shared among Aman , Bhanu
and Chandan ?
Sol .
Ratio of pro?t is equal to the product of
investment and time of investment .
Ratio Aman : Bhanu : Chandan ?
Investment 4 : 5 : 15 ?
Time 12 : 12 : 4 ?
---------------------------------------------
Pro?t 48 : 60 : 60 = 4 : 5 : 5 ?
Ex.3 - Rajesh and Sanjay are partners in
a business ?rm. Rajesh puts in Rs. 5000
and Sanjay puts in Rs. 4000. Rajesh
receives 10 % of the pro?t for managing
the business as he is the active partner
and the rest of the pro?t is divided in the
ratio of their capitals.
Rajesh total share 100 + 500 = 600 Rs. ?
