Staff Selection Commission (SSC) releases SSC JE 2019 Notification on August 13, 2019, to recruit eligible candidates for Junior Engineer for Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical Posts. So, candidates need to apply for SSC JE Recruitment 2019 via an online process from 13.08.2019 to 12.09.2019. SSC releases notification to recruit candidates for JE posts for different government departments. The candidates can fill the online application form for SSC JE for the posts they favour. The department allows candidates to file the application form at ssc.nic.in that is the official site for Staff Selection Commission.

What is SSC JE Exam?

The SSC JE exam is ‘Staff Selection Commission Junior Engineer Engineers’ exam. SSC conducts a common Exam across the country to fill vacancies in various Central or State Government Departments .These departments include Mechanical, Electrical & Civil Engineering. Once you qualify, you are hired as a Junior Engineer in one of the departments.

If you are wondering about SSC JE salary, then you should know that after you are recruited as a SSC Junior Engineer in any of the departments, you will be getting a decent salary in the initial period of your service. The basic pay will be Rs. 3,5400 – Rs. 1,12,400/-.

SSC JE Exam Pattern

SSC JE 2019 Exam will be conducted by Staff Selection Commission of India in two phases:

Paper 1: This paper is of 200 marks and is a Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) based paper. 

Negative marking: 0.25 marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer.

Paper 2: This paper constitutes 300 marks and is a Multiple Choice Questions based paper. 

Negative marking: 0.25 marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer.


According to the SSC JE Exam Pattern, candidates appearing for the post of JE (civil), JE (quantity surveying & contract) must attempt Part A (civil & structural) of paper I & II.

Candidates appearing for JE (electrical) attempt Part B (electrical).

Candidates appearing for JE (mechanical) must attempt Part C (mechanical) of Paper I & II.

Nationality and Citizenship
Candidates who are the citizens of mentioned country are eligible to appear for the SSC JE Exam–
• A citizen of India, or
• A subject of Nepal, or
• A subject of Bhutan, or
• A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before January 1, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Selection Process

  • Step 1: Written examination or Paper 1 (Objective Type). The mode of exam is online comprises of 200 marks.
  • Step 2: Written examination or Paper 2 is a conventional type for 300 marks. This exam will take place in an offline mode.
  • Note: Please note that there will be no interview round. Selection will be based on the marks secured in the above two papers.

In case of Tie, steps mentioned below will be followed:

3) Senior as per the date of birth (DOB)

4) Alphabetical order in first names of the students

SSC JE Application Form 2019

The application form of SSC JE will be available online from February 1, 2019 to February 25, 2019. SSC JE 2019 application form comprises two parts -Part I registration and Part II filling detailed application form. Fee is Rs 100 which can be paid through SBI Challan/Net banking/Credit/Debit Cards. In case of any discrepancies in the data filled during one time registration can be edited before proceeding to fill online application form. Candidates can edit information like name, father’s name, mother’s name, date of birth, gender and roll number of matriculation. The detailed procedure to fill SSC JE 2019 application form is explained below.

How to fill SSC JE 2019 Application Form?

  • Candidates have to first register for the exam by filling basic information.
  • After registration, registration number and password will be generated.
  • Applicants have to proceed to fill the detailed application form.
  • The photograph has to be uploaded in jpg format and file size should be more than 4 KB and less than 20 KB.
  • Pay the requisite application fees.
  • Submit the application form.

SSC JE Admit Card

SSC JE 2019 admit card will be available on the official website of SSC. They need to carry admit card along with Aadhar Card and a Passport Sized Photograph on the exam day. A candidate failing to produce SSC JE Admit Card will not be allowed to appear for the entrance exam. It is an important document as it contains the roll number and exam center of the candidates. To download your admit card, you need registration number and your date of birth (DOB). It is advisable to take print out of your admit card for future use.

SSC JE Result

SSC JE exam result will be released by the commission soon after the exam is held. Candidates can check SSC JE 2019 Result at the official website of SSC i.e. ssc.nic.in. In order to check the SSC JE Result, candidates have to search in with their respective SSC JE Exam roll number.
