The story is about a curious girl named Rani who learns about India’s space mission to the Moon. With the help of her brother and Aunt Nandini, a scientist, Rani discovers how rockets help reach the Moon, filling her with dreams of space exploration.
Once upon a time, there was a girl named Rani who lived in a village. Rani was very curious and loved to ask her family, teachers, and friends many questions. She often wondered things like, "Why is the sky blue?" and "Where does the Sun go at night?" One evening, Rani heard her mother singing a lovely song about the Moon. This made her think, and she asked her mother how far away the Moon is. Her mother replied that the Moon is very far in the sky. Rani thought about this question as she fell asleep.
The next morning, Rani woke up to her older brother, Pratik, shouting excitedly at the television. He was pointing at the screen and saying, "Look, Rani, India is on the Moon!" Rani was curious and looked at the TV. She saw pictures of machines on the Moon and heard people talking about how they landed there. Confused, Rani asked Pratik how the Chandrayaan spacecraft reached the Moon. Pratik told her that his friend Vivaan's mother, Aunt Nandini, is a scientist, and suggested they visit her to learn more.
Rani happily agreed, and they went to Vivaan's house. When they arrived, Vivaan and his mother welcomed them. Rani noticed many models and photographs of rockets in their home. Aunt Nandini offered them a refreshing drink called sharbat and asked Rani what she wanted to know. Rani asked her about the news of India landing on the Moon. Aunt Nandini asked if they knew which vehicle was used to travel to the Moon. Pratik quickly replied that it was a rocket, which he had seen on TV. Rani pointed out the models of rockets in the room, and Aunt Nandini confirmed that a rocket is indeed what is used to reach the Moon.
Curious, Rani asked what "Chandrayaan" means. Aunt Nandini explained that "Chandra" means Moon, and "Yaan" means vehicle. She then shared exciting news: on July 14, 2023, India became the first country to land on the far side of the Moon. Rani was thrilled and asked Aunt Nandini if she could also go to the Moon one day. Nandini smiled and said, "Maybe, one day." This conversation left Rani filled with dreams and curiosity about space exploration and the wonderful possibilities of the future.
The moral of the story is that curiosity leads to learning and discovery. Rani's questions show us how important it is to be curious about the world around us. When we ask questions and seek answers, we can learn many new things. It teaches us that exploring our interests can lead to exciting adventures and knowledge. Being curious like Rani can help us understand the universe better and inspire us to dream big.
