1. What is a natural disaster? 
Ans: A natural disaster is an event caused by the imbalance of nature that leads to widespread destruction, loss of life, property, and disruption to society. Examples include earthquakes, floods, cyclones, volcanic eruptions, droughts, landslides, forest fires, etc.

2. What are the effects of an earthquake? Write the precautions also.
Ans: Earthquakes can cause buildings to collapse, landslides, and tsunamis. Precautions during an earthquake include taking shelter under a strong table or bed, moving out of buildings to open areas, not using lifts, and listening to warnings for evacuation.

3. What are the causes of floods? 
Ans: Floods can be caused by excessive rainfall over an area, leading to rivers overflowing. Landslides that block rivers and the sudden melting of snow on mountains can also contribute to flooding.

4. Write some measures to tackle a drought. 
Ans: Measures to tackle a drought include avoiding deforestation and encouraging afforestation, growing more trees, practicing rainwater harvesting, water conservation methods, cultivating drought-resistant plants and crops, and avoiding water wastage.

5. What is a landslide?
