Wisdom Paves the Way.
The Journey Begins
Four friends - Ram Datt, Shiv Datt, Har
Datt, and Dev Datt were travelling to
Ujjain in search of work after walking
for ten days. They were tired but still
hopeful.
Hope and Determination
Ram Datt expressed hope that the King
might recognise their talents; Dev Datt
stayed positive; Har Datt reminded
them that meeting a king was not easy.
They decided to reach the city first
before making plans.
The Mystery of the Tracks
1
Observing the Tracks
As Ram Datt and his friends were walking, he noticed some unusual marks on
the ground. Shiv Datt, being the observant one, identified them as camel tracks.
The friends became intrigued and started examining the tracks closely, looking
for any clues or details that could help them understand what had happened.
2
Discussing Their Findings
Each of the friends noticed something different about the tracks - the depth, the
spacing, the direction. Fascinated by their observations, they decided to sit
under a nearby tree to discuss their findings and try to piece together what the
tracks might be telling them.
3
The Worried Merchant
As the friends were deep in discussion, a worried-looking merchant suddenly
approached them. He asked if they had seen his missing camel, explaining that
the animal had wandered off and he was desperately searching for it. The
friends realized that their observations might be able to help the merchant find
his lost camel.
The Amazing Deductions
1
Ram Datt's Question
Ram Datt asked if the camel was lame;
the merchant confirmed in surprise.
2
Shiv Datt's Observation
Shiv Datt asked if it was blind in one
eye; again the merchant agreed, more
shocked.
3
Har Datt's Discovery
Har Datt asked if its tail was short.
4
Dev Datt's Discovery
Dev Datt asked if it had a stomach
problem and he was correct.
Though the friends insisted they had not seen the camel, the suspicious merchant accused them of
theft. He took them to the city gates and then to the King's court, demanding justice.
In the King's Court
The merchant claimed they must be thieves since they knew details of the camel. The
King listened and asked the friends to explain.
1
Ram Datt's Explanation
Ram Datt explained the lighter footprint showed a lame leg.
2
Shiv Datt's Reasoning
Shiv Datt said the camel ate leaves only on the left side, showing blindness in
the right eye.
3
Har Datt's Evidence
Har Datt mentioned blood spots on the ground, proving the camel's short tail.
4
Dev Datt's Insight
Dev Datt explained the deeper front-leg prints, which showed a stomach
problem.
The King realised they were wise and observant, not thieves. The King scolded the
merchant for his false accusation, and the merchant left in shame to continue his
search.
A Royal Reward
Impressed, the King offered the four
friends positions as advisers in his court.
The friends accepted gratefully,
promising honesty and wisdom. The
court applauded as their journey ended
with respect and honour instead of
ordinary work.
