SSB Situation Reaction Test (SRT)

The SRT is a crucial test conducted as part of the psychological tests in the SSB after the TAT and WAT. Its purpose is evident from the name itself, as candidates are presented with various situations and are expected to respond or react accordingly. Today, we will discuss what the SRT entails, the procedure involved, important guidelines to follow, and how to excel in this test.

What is SRT?

The Situation Reaction Test involves candidates receiving a booklet containing 60 situations, to which they must respond appropriately. No specific study materials are needed; rather, the test relies on common sense and practical life experiences. It assesses an individual's maturity, intelligence, and reasoning abilities in everyday situations.

Procedure of SSB SRT

  • Candidates will receive a booklet containing 60 questions.
  • They are required to write their responses on an answer sheet.
  • The total time allotted for the test is 30 minutes.
  • Each response should be written within approximately 30 seconds, although there is no timer like in the WAT.
