here let us see what is linear pair of
angles
now we need an example for that
let's have a straight line here and then
let us have line which makes an igloo
the straight line on both sides so say
let us have a and this is the vertex o
this is B and this is C
so now linear pair of angles are nothing
but two adjacent angles
whose uncommon arms that is here Oh a
and Ossie whose uncommon arms make an
angle of 180 degrees that is one way of
putting what is linear pair of angles
another way is by saying that they're
uncommon arms are two opposite rays so
that is called as a linear pair of
angles
say let me take an example say now we
have a straight line we have this 120
degrees and say this is 60 degrees now
if you add 60 and 120 we get 180 degrees
so that means to say that the uncommon
arms AO and OC make an angle of 180
degrees and therefore this that is a OB
and b OC are linear pair of angles
now say for example we have something
like this
we have this as a hundred degrees and we
have this as say sixty degrees and then
let us name them same a OC and we have B
now the angles a OB and b OC cannot be
called as linear pair of angles because
they're uncommon arms that is AO and OC
do not form an angle of 180 degrees they
only form an angle of 160 degrees at the
same time we can also say in a different
way that they are not two opposite rays
OSI is going in one direction Oh a is
going not in exactly the opposite
direction of OSI the exact opposite
direction of OSI would be something like

so when they are an exactly opposite
direction then they make an angle of 180
degrees so these are this is called as
