What is a PIQ Form? | Preparation Tips for SSB Interview - CDS PDF Download

The Personal Information Questionnaire (PIQ) is a form that candidates need to fill out upon their arrival. This form serves as the basis for the later Personal Interview. It's important to fill out the form smartly and honestly because providing untrue information may cause trouble during the interview. For instance, if you claim to play football in the PIQ form but the interviewing officer discovers that you know nothing about football during the interview, it will have a negative impact. So, be careful while filling out the form as you'll be asked questions based on your stated interests.

  • In the beginning of the form, you need to provide details such as your name, your father's name, and your primary place of residence. After that, you should provide your current address along with the approximate population of the city or town. It's crucial to have knowledge about your city, its population, and any special facts about it as this information can be helpful during the Personal Interview.
  • Following that, you need to provide details such as your state and district, religion, whether you belong to SC/ST/OBC category, mother tongue, date of birth, and if your parents are alive or not, you need to mention your age at the time of their death.
  • You should mention the educational qualifications, present occupation, and monthly income of your parents and guardians. It's important to have accurate information about them, so make a note of these details before your SSB interview.
  • You must also mention your marks obtained in the 10th and 12th grade board exams, as well as the medium of instruction. Additionally, indicate whether you were a day scholar or a hostler. State the number of brothers and sisters you have and your position among them.
  • Include your age at the time (in years + months), your height (in meters), and your weight (in kilograms). Remember to write your height in meters, not feet.
  • Provide information about your current occupation and personal monthly income, if applicable. If you have received any NCC training, mention the details.
  • Next, mention your participation in games, sports, hobbies, interests, and extracurricular activities. Also, specify any leadership positions or offices you held in NCC, sports, extracurricular groups, or other fields.
  • Finally, write about your previous interview experience, the number of attempts made for the three services, and provide details of your last interview, including the place of entry, date, batch, chest number, and whether you were recommended or not.
