Draw the fractions using circles and color the parts.
Answer: 1/5 + 2/5 = 3/5.
Subtract 4/9 from 11/9
Answer: As the orange shaded part is 11 and the blue shaded part is 4. So when we subtract 11 - 4 which will give us 7. As the remaining orange part is 7.
Therefore, 11/9 - 4/9 = 7/9.
