family of poverty. In the hope of gaining some Knowledge, he used to go to a nearby school and sit 
outside listening to the teachers .He followed classes in English and Maths and especially enjoyed 
the story-telling classes that always seemed to take place on Friday afternoons. He was often asked 
to leave the school grounds. However, this did not discourage him. It made him want to get more 
educated. 
2. One day, while walking near a railway line surrounded by hills, he noticed a landslide about to 
occur. Although he had never been to school, he had learned about how dangerous landslides were 
from listening to stories told by his grandfather. He ran as fast as he could along the railway line to 
save himself. Unfortunately, his foot got trapped in the railway track and he fell, hurting his knee. 
He started moving towards home with his painful bleeding knee. He thanked God for saving his 
life from the landslide.

rupees and told him that he should return the money when both of them came back. 
2. After a month one of the boys went to the honest man and told him that his friend had died 
in an accident while they were coming back to the town. He cried for some time and said 
that since his dear friend was no more, he would leave the town forever. He asked the honest 
man for the money they had given him to keep. The man returned the money to him. 
3. After a few days, the second friend went to the honest man and asked for the money. The 
honest man was shocked to see him alive and told him that his friend had taken the money 
saying that he was dead. Hearing this, the boy blamed the honest man of dishonesty and took 
him to the mayor. The mayor heard both the sides and understood what the matter was. He 
told the boy that as per the condition the honest man should return the money only when 
both the friends were present. Now since one of them was absent the honest man should not 
return the money. The mayor asked him to bring his friend and take the money. The boy 
realized that their plan had failed and left the place silently.
