4. How is wind measured?

Ans. Wind is measured using an instrument called an anemometer. An anemometer typically consists of cups that catch the wind and spin a rotor. The speed of the wind is then calculated based on the number of rotations per unit of time. Additionally, the direction of the wind is measured using a wind vane, which points in the direction from which the wind is blowing.

5. What are the different types of winds?

Ans. There are several types of winds, including prevailing winds, trade winds, westerlies, and polar easterlies. Prevailing winds are the dominant winds that blow consistently in a particular direction over a specific region. Trade winds are the winds that blow towards the equator from the north and south. Westerlies are the prevailing winds that blow from west to east in the middle latitudes, while polar easterlies blow from the polar regions towards the lower latitudes.
