1. What is electricity?

Ans. Electricity is a form of energy resulting from the movement of charged particles, such as electrons. It is commonly used for powering various devices and appliances.

2. What are circuits?

Ans. Circuits are pathways made of wires and components through which electricity flows. They consist of a power source, such as a battery, wires for conducting electricity, and different components like resistors, capacitors, and switches.

3. How does electricity flow in a circuit?

Ans. Electricity flows in a circuit in a closed loop. The power source, usually a battery, provides the voltage that pushes the electric charges through the circuit. The charges flow from the positive terminal of the battery, through the wires and components, and return to the negative terminal of the battery.

4. What is the difference between series and parallel circuits?

Ans. In a series circuit, the components are connected one after the other, forming a single pathway for electricity. The same current flows through each component. In a parallel circuit, the components are connected in separate branches, allowing multiple pathways for electricity. The current is divided among the branches.

5. What is the role of switches in a circuit?

Ans. Switches are used to control the flow of electricity in a circuit. They can be opened or closed to either allow or block the passage of electric current. When a switch is closed, the circuit is complete, and electricity can flow. When a switch is open, the circuit is broken, and electricity cannot flow.
