focus on the layers of soil which we had
started so just perform this very simple
experiment at your home just to can get
convinced with the fact that soil
consists of many different layers take
some amount of sand stick with some
amount of soil maybe you can take it
from your garden or anywhere nearby take
some amount of soil take a glass of
water
and now you put this soil into the water
and stare it properly with the help of a
steer or spoon and then leave it
undisturbed for the couple of minutes
what do you observe after some time
after a few minutes you observe that
those soil particles gradually gets
arranged in separate layers so you can
actually make out different layers
because the type of the particles in
each layer is different maybe in some
layer the particles are like very big
big particles and some layers the
particles are like various fine
particles in the form of dust in some
layers the color is dark brown some
layers color is red kind of very light
light brownish shade so you will be able
to distinguish these various names if
you focus on the topmost layer you will
also be able to see some small leaf or
some plant remains now as I was telling
you that when you talk about the
composition of soil it consists of rock
particles and it consists of rumors and
you must is what set contains rock
particles and us and what is you must it
is nothing but dead remains of plants
and animals so it is quite expected that
some small parts of plants or some
animals might also be present there
right and that becomes evident from the
troposphere so on from the post
then even find some tiny pieces of
leaves or tiny part of a stem so with
this you will be convinced with the fact
that yes soil is made up of layer soil
contains different particles and
different particles have different
properties maybe they have different
densities so some of them settle down at
the bottom some of them start floating
above so but whatever the reason may be
you will be able to see distinct layers
so this is one many simple illustration
which which shows that soil is made up
of many different particles which have
different physical and chemical
properties so now we is the time when we
are actually going to talk about that
layers now all the layers of soil with
different physical and chemical
properties they have together term as
the soil horizon now oil horizon is a
term for all the layers of soil
collectively so collectively it is for
horizon now from above we cannot see the
below layers of soil but what we see is
only the topmost layers so the layers of
soil which we are going to discuss in a
little while are the ochre eysan
and sea horizon so these are the four
most important soil horizons and all
this lies above the bedrock layer that
is the layer of rocks which is often
referred as the armed horizon so our
stands were wrong now you might say that
okay you are saying that okay soil is
made up of these many layers but what we
see is only the topmost layer so is
there any way by which we can see all
these layers or how can we practically
see these layers well if you really want
to see the different layers you can
either visit a place where maybe
construction of a building is going on
and it is just the initial phase when
the foundation of the building is being
laid now when the foundation is doing
then what do they do they dig deep under
the ground and when they leave under the
ground you are actually able to see
these layers of soil so that's one way
you can see it graphically again if you
visit a place where a ditch has been
done very recently so there also you can
see these layers you can also see it on
the banks of a pond or a river
so you see somewhat like this when
digging happens in any place so you are
actually going below the ground right
and what do you see at the ground level
is the topmost layer of soil so as you
are digging you need you are basically
able to see the various layers of soil
so the deeper you go the more layers you
are able to see so in case you really
want to explore this I think it will be
a good option to visit a place where
construction work is going on
