The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) conducts the Group D Level 1 exam, providing a golden opportunity for 10th-pass candidates to secure a job with Indian Railways, a respected government organization. For 2025, Indian Railways has announced 32,438 openings for various Level 1 positions across India. The registration process is complete, with 10,822,423 applications submitted. The RRB Group D 2025 CBT 1 Exam is scheduled to be conducted from July 26 to September 27, 2025.

Document Verification:
Based on CBT performance and PET qualification, candidates up to twice the number of vacancies will be called for document verification, based on merit and preferences.
Additional candidates may be considered for empanelment only in case of a shortfall in the merit list, non-joining of recommended candidates, or other specific requirements.
In case of a tie in marks, the older candidate will be ranked higher. If ages are the same, alphabetical order (A to Z) of names will determine the merit position.
Final appointment is subject to passing the Medical Fitness Test, verification of educational and community certificates, and background checks.
Candidates called for document verification beyond the notified vacancies have no guaranteed right to appointment, even if they pass the medical examination.
Medical Examination:
Candidates who clear document verification undergo a medical fitness test conducted by the Railway Administration.
Only those found medically fit will receive an appointment letter from the respective Railway Administration.
The Railways Recruitment Boards (RRBs) or Railway Recruitment Cells (RRCs) only recommend candidates for empanelment, while final appointments are made by the respective Railway Administrations.
The application fee for RRB Group D 2025 is as follows:
General/OBC: Rs 500 (Rs 400 refunded after appearing for the CBT, minus bank charges).
SC/ST/PwBD/Female/Ex-Servicemen/Transgender/Minorities/Economically Backward Class: Rs 250 (fully refunded after appearing for the CBT, minus bank charges).
Candidates must provide bank account details during the application process to receive the refund.
Refunds are processed after appearing for the Computer-Based Test (CBT), subject to verification of candidate details.
Incorrect, incomplete, or late claims for refunds are rejected. Only one refund per bank account is allowed.
Candidates receive refund notifications via SMS and email to their registered mobile number and email ID.
The RRB Group D 2025 application is submitted online only through the official RRB portal (rrbapply.gov.in). Follow these steps to apply:
Visit the official RRB website and select the RRB region for your state.
Click on “CEN-08/2024 Group D (Level-1) Recruitment” and register using a valid mobile number and email ID.
Log in with the registration ID and password provided.
Fill in personal details, educational qualifications, and contact information in Part I of the application form.
In Part II, indicate preferences for Group D posts.
Upload a scanned passport-size photograph, signature, and category certificate (if applicable, e.g., SC/ST/PwBD) as per the specifications in the notification.
Pay the application fee online using Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, UPI, or offline via a bank challan.
Select the exam language (options include Hindi, English, Urdu, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu).
Submit the application form and save a copy.

The pay scale for RRB Group D 2025 is as follows:
Basic Pay: Rs. 18,000/- per month (Level 1 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix).
In-Hand Salary: Approximately Rs. 22,500 to Rs. 25,380 per month, after including allowances.
Annual Package: Ranges from Rs. 3 lakh to Rs. 5 lakh per annum, depending on posting location and allowances.
Allowances:
Dearness Allowance (DA): 50% of basic pay (as of January 1, 2024, subject to biannual revisions).
House Rent Allowance (HRA):
30% for X-class cities (e.g., Mumbai, Delhi).
20% for Y-class cities (e.g., Pune, Lucknow).
10% for Z-class cities (e.g., smaller towns).
Transport Allowance (TA): Rs. 1,800 to Rs. 3,600 (plus DA, depending on city category).
