KVPY is a Scholarship Exam which is conducted by IISC, Bangalore. This exam is held to provide eligible students fellowship and scholarship which will help them to study in science field and make career in science and research. it
The exam of KVPY is categorized in three streams: SA, SB and SX. Students have many confusions regarding these streams.
The eligibility conditions, exam pattern, syllabus, cutoff marks are different for these streams of KVPY. We will get to Class 11 exam of KVPY i.e. SA
REWARDS:
The students who qualify KVPY Exam are eligible for the fellowship. The students receive fellowship from 1st year onwards of their graduation. The KVPY fellows receive Rs. 5000 monthly fellowship from 1st to 3rd year of B.Sc/ B.Stat/ B.S./ B.Maths/ Integrated M.S./M.Sc and an annual contingency grant of Rs.20,000. After three years the fellowship is enhanced to Rs.7,000 per month during M.Sc/4th and 5th year of Integrated M.S./M.Sc and an annual contingency grant of Rs. 28,000.This exam serves as an entrance exam to various premium pure science institutes in India such as IISC and IISER.
ELIGIBILITY:
- Only Indian candidates can apply for the KVPY Fellowship programme.
For Stream SA –
- Those candidates studied in XI Standard (Science Subjects) in the academic year of 2020-2020 can apply for this test.
- Candidates have to score at least 75% marks (65% marks in case of the SC/ST/PWD) in aggregate in Science & Mathematics subjects in Class X.
- Candidates have to secure minimum 60% marks (50% marks for SC/ST/PWD) in aggregate in Science Subjects in XII Standard Board Examination.
- Selected students fellowship will be activated only when they join an UG programme in Basic Science (B.Sc/BS/B.Stat./B.Math./Int.M.Sc/MS) in the academic year 2020-2021.
- During the interim period of one year, students will be invited for the National Science (Vijyoshi) Camp and their travel and other related expenses will be sponsored by KVPY

Ans. The application process for KVPY SA is as follows:

- Candidates also need to upload scanned copies of their photograph, signature, and other required documents.
- The application fee can be paid online.

Ans. The selection process for KVPY SA consists of two stages:
- Stage 1: Aptitude Test - The aptitude test is conducted in an online mode and consists of multiple-choice questions. It assesses the candidate's analytical and problem-solving skills in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology. This test is the primary screening stage, and qualifying candidates are eligible for the next stage.
- Stage 2: Interview - Shortlisted candidates from the aptitude test are called for an interview. The interview assesses the candidate's scientific aptitude, research interest, and knowledge in their chosen field of study. Final selection is based on the combined performance in the aptitude test and interview.
