A tribunal is like a special court that handles different kinds of problems, such as sorting out arguments about taxes or administrative issues. In the beginning, our Constitution didn't talk about tribunals, but later on, the 42nd Amendment Act in 1976 added a section all about them. Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT)

  • Appointed by the central government based on recommendations from a search-cum-selection committee chaired by the Chief Justice of India or a nominated Supreme Court Judge.

  • CAT isn't bound by the Civil Procedure Code of 1908 but operates under principles of natural justice.

State Administrative Tribunals

Introduction:
